My thoughts about this are: before the tree is cut and pulped, why not make a mould of part of the trunk?
Commission an artist ‑ possibly by way of a competition and in this way give new life to the chestnut tree as a work of art.
The idea is that the tree will continue to exist as a symbol.
The tree will still be there instead of being destroyed.
Reminding us of the victims of that period, of wich Anne Frank was one.
The rest of the tree can be sold in one way or the other and the money used in such a way that it will promote peace.
I really think that Anne Frank, should she be watching from above, would love this.
Who else thinks this is a good idea?
